Today is National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day. Thank you to those who serve and protect our community!

Good morning King and Queen Community, this is Dr. Carter calling with an update on our schools.
We have reassessed our roads this morning and with the large strips of black ice and freezing temperatures, King and Queen County Public Schools will now be closed on Thursday, January 9th for students. This is a change.
Parents, I know this is frustrating for your child care needs, but we must always make safety our top priority. Staff report at 10:00 A.M. with caution.
Thank you for your patience and support.

Good afternoon King and Queen Community,
As you know King and Queen County is 72 miles long and we have many back roads. King and Queen County Public Schools will be closed for students on Wednesday, January 8th. All King and Queen County school staff please report to your designated school by 10:00 A.M. for a workday. Again, school is closed for students and staff report at 10:00 A.M. Have a wonderful evening.

Due to cold temperatures, snow, and road conditions, King and Queen County Public Schools will be closed, Monday, January 6, 2025 for all students and staff.

The LMES PTO set up the annual Penguin Patch Shop to help students prepare for the holidays.

No matter what our mode of communication is, we all deserve to be heard.

Last week, Principal Bartlett showed his LMES team some holiday cheer with fun games and treats! Everyone enjoyed the festive activities. Thanks, Principal Bartlett, for finding creative ways to celebrate your staff.

This week, educators at Lawson-Marriott Elementary came together with William and Mary TTAC for a dynamic professional development session focused on co-teaching models.
This partnership is more than just a one-time event—it’s a commitment to ongoing growth and excellence. Together, LMES and W&M TTAC are laying the groundwork for a year of innovation, teamwork, and success in the classroom.
A huge thank you to everyone involved for their dedication to creating inclusive, collaborative learning environments for our students. We can’t wait to see how this partnership continues to flourish throughout the year!
