💖 What a fantastic night at the KQES Valentine’s Dance! 💖
Last night’s event, sponsored by the KQES PTO, had an incredible turnout and was filled with smiles, laughter, and lots of fun. It was wonderful to see so many families come out to celebrate together.
Special thanks to families for the generous donations of cookies and juice 🍪🧃 — the treats were a hit!
A huge shoutout to the KQES PTO for sponsoring such a fun evening, and to Ms. Moradi for hosting the Henna tattoo station — a favorite stop of the night!
A few creative liberties may have been taken with the photos 😉📸, but the joy was all real. 💕

King and Queen County Public Schools will open tomorrow, Monday, February 9th on a 2 hour delay. Staff, please report to work at 9:00am. Due to the current snow and road conditions, some bus routes will be operating an alternate route to ensure student safety. Buses may experience delays and some stops may be adjusted temporarily if roads are unsafe for travel. Drivers will contact the families that will be impacted by these changes. Please remind students to arrive at the bus stop a few minutes early and to dress appropriately for winter weather. When conditions improve, regular bus and car routes will resume as soon as it is safe to do so.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we prioritize the safety of our students and staff. If you have any questions, please call the School Board office.

Black History Spotlight: Gladys West was a pioneering Black mathematician whose work helped make GPS possible.
Born in segregated Virginia, she became one of the first Black women to work at the U.S. Naval Proving Ground, where she used advanced math and satellite data to model the shape of the Earth — a key foundation for GPS technology we use every day.
Her contributions went unrecognized for decades, but today she’s celebrated as a Black history and STEM trailblazer who helped change the world.

Wednesday, February 4th will be a remote learning day for students. Students will continue working on assignments provided by their teachers and will only be counted present if their completed work is returned. It is imperative that all assigned tasks be completed. Families may contact teachers if questions arise.
Thank you for your flexibility and continued support. We truly appreciate our partnership with our families!
