King and Queen County Public Schools are taking every precaution to protect children, teachers and staff from contracting MRSA. Over two weeks ago we began using a very strong disinfectant and neutral cleaner that kills the MRSA germ. We clean all areas in each school with this disinfectant. Our custodians are spot cleaning every school everyday and disinfecting each school every week. We have asked each school nurse to meet with the children in their school to share information on how to protect themselves from infection and the basic signs and symptoms of MRSA. If you would like more information about MRSA please go to the Virginia Department of Education website.
