KQPS December 2024 Outlook

This week, educators at Lawson-Marriott Elementary came together with William and Mary TTAC for a dynamic professional development session focused on co-teaching models.
This partnership is more than just a one-time event—it’s a commitment to ongoing growth and excellence. Together, LMES and W&M TTAC are laying the groundwork for a year of innovation, teamwork, and success in the classroom.
A huge thank you to everyone involved for their dedication to creating inclusive, collaborative learning environments for our students. We can’t wait to see how this partnership continues to flourish throughout the year!

November 11-15, 2024 is National School Psychology Awareness Week! It is a week to highlight the important work our school psychologists and other educators do to help all students thrive. Thank you Dr. McDonald for your commitment and support to our students!

At its October 24 meeting, the KQPS School Board approved amendments to the KQPS Cell Phone Policy to better align with the Governor's Executive Order 33. The changes will go into effect on November 1. Please click the link below to see the updated policies.

REMINDER
At the September 18 School Board meeting, the School Board approved two calendar changes:
Tuesday, November 5 (Election Day) is now a student holiday and a PD/Workday for staff.
Thursday, November 7 is now an early release for students at 12:00pm and Parent/Teacher conferences from 12:30pm-5:30pm.

Community Pride Day is TOMORROW (Saturday, October 19)! It begins with a parade starting at the Courthouse and ending at Central High School. Come join us for a fun-filled day celebrating King & Queen County!

All are welcome to join the first Special Education Advisory Committee (SEAC) meeting of the school year. The meeting will be held virtually. Please email Dr. David Curran or Amy Klontzaris for a link.
