KQPS staff received professional development today from Dr. Joy Lawson Davis and Mr. Greg Wrenn! Due to safety concerns relating to the total solar eclipse, all King and Queen County Public Schools (students and staff) will release at 1:00pm on Monday, April 8, 2024.
The eclipse will begin around 2:00pm and will reach its maximum magnitude around 3:20pm. Because looking at the intense light from the sun, even for just a few seconds, can cause permanent damage to the retina, we are closing school early on April 8 at 1:00pm for students and staff. Our students and staff will be home for the totality of the solar eclipse for King and Queen where viewing can be controlled.

Reminder: King & Queen County Public Schools will be CLOSED tomorrow (Friday, March 15, 2024) for all students and staff.

After two weeks of collecting “necessities” for the community, the CHS students and staff showed up and showed out! 🤩 The SGA is happy to share that over 500 packages of goods were collected - totaling 700 individual items. WOW! The 11th/12th grade team dominated with 332 donations, the 7th/8th grade team followed behind them with 150 packages, and the 9th/10th grade team rounded things out with 51 donated items. Kudos to ALL who participated! The competition was fun, but the real prize is being able to give back to families within our community. Thank you to ALL! ❤️🐅❤️
