Tonight's softball game against Lancaster has been canceled due to a lack of players on the Varsity team. However, our baseball team will still be competing against Lancaster, and the game starts at 5:00 PM.
Track and Field also has its first event at Charles City tonight. We wish all our JV and Varsity track athletes the best of luck!

On Friday, March 7, CHS held its first semester award ceremony. Students were awarded for A and AB honor roll. Teachers also recognized efforts in math, reading, science and social studies. Our students of the month were also recognized: Matthew Kellerman 7th, Malaysha Rhodes 8th, Kamora Hill 9th, Lucas Canter 10th, Seth Prince 11th and Janiya Brown 12th. We also gave rewards for semester 1 perfect attendance. Several students didn't miss a day and received free bowling games. Way to go, Tigers!










Congratulations to our Indoor Track team, who wrapped up their season at Liberty University over the last couple of days. Amelia Moaney, Janiya Brown, and Randy Holmes all competed and have set a strong foundation for the upcoming outdoor track season. We look forward to seeing their continued success!

Reminder: The spring sports parent meeting has been rescheduled to next Monday, the 3rd. We hope to see all student-athletes and their parents there. This meeting will allow coaches to provide important information and address any questions parents may have.
Another exciting accomplishment from the basketball season is that our very own Coach, Marlon Parker, won Coach of the Year for the Tidewater District. We are very proud of the hard work he puts in to ensure his players grow not only as athletes but also as young men. Thank you for everything you do, Coach Parker!

*Attention: Update on Central High School Athletics**
We would like to inform you that our basketball games against Middlesex have been canceled due to inclement weather conditions. We made attempts to reschedule these games; however, with the regional playoffs starting on Monday, we have run out of time.
Please note that the regional track competition has been rescheduled to this Monday, February 24th. Additionally, the state wrestling tournament has only been canceled for this weekend, and we are currently waiting for more information regarding its rescheduling. We will share updates as soon as we receive them.

Hello CHS Families: On Wednesday, February 19, students should complete B Day Remote Learning assignments to be counted present and on Thursday, they should complete A day Remote Learning assignments. Bridging Communities students have a remote learning day on 19 Feb and have their assignments to complete. Interns should notify their employers they will not be attending their assigned internship on 19 Feb. CBGS also is closed with a virtual day. Those students have their assignments as well. Be safe and enjoy the snow.
The Regional Track Meet that was scheduled for yesterday has been rescheduled to February 20th, which is next Thursday. We wish our track stars the best of luck as they prepare for this important day.
Additionally, tonight's basketball tripleheader at Middlesex will also be rescheduled. Further information regarding the games will be posted here soon.
Tonight, our boys' varsity basketball team will take on the Charles City Panthers. This game is rescheduled from January 21. Here is a flyer provided by Charles City that answers any questions related to ticket sales for that game. Let’s support our Tigers and wish them luck!

A big shoutout to the wrestlers competing at Regionals today in Matthews! We had two athletes secure their spots at the state tournament. Calvin Hudson placed 2nd in regionals, while Chase Shelley took 1st and is the 165 lb weight class champion for 2025 Region A/B. Best of luck to both as they prepare for the state competition at the Salem Civic Center on February 21 and 22. Let's wish them luck—Go Tigers!
