Dress as Your Favorite Character Day at KQES

A December to Remember continues at KQES. Today, staff and students were invited to dress in plaid. Tomorrow, Dec. 5th is Dress as Your Favorite Holiday Character Day. Staff also enjoyed cookies in recognition of National Cookie Day.
Families are invited to come out on Thursday, December 14th from 5:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. to take pictures with Santa and/or The Grinch. Photos are $5.00.

King and Queen Elementary would like to than Mr. and Mrs. Swilley for the very generous donation of school supplies.
KQES would like to thank all of the families that participated in the Disguise a Turkey family project. The creativity, time and effort put into these projects was nothing less than impressive. KQES second graders participated in Pumpkin Mania STEM in the Classroom on October 31st. Special thanks to King William, King and Queen 4-H for teaching students all about pumpkins.
National Family Literacy Day® is celebrated on November 1st each year and is a kickoff to National Family Literacy Month. This November, the celebration of National Family Literacy Month brings about a great opportunity for families to get back into the tradition of reading as a family.
Here are ways you can promote family literacy at home.
- Set aside time each day for reading.
- Keep books visible around the house.
- Make regular visits to the library.
- Read the book version of your child’s favorite movie.
- Organize a children’s book club with friends in the neighborhood

Attention King and Queen Community
Tomorrow's varsity football games vs. West Point has been rescheduled to Monday, October 16th, with kickoff starting at 7pm.

Based on the forecasted weather for tomorrow and wanting to ensure the safety of all community members and students, the Community Pride Day Parade is being rescheduled to October 21st, with the parade starting at 10am.
It's almost time for KQE's Fall Festival! We hope to see you there.
