Good evening, Central High School Community,
This past summer, the King and Queen School board adopted a new cell phone policy designed to increase students' focus during academic instruction. Under the new policy, cell phone use will be permitted during class changes, and at breakfast and lunch.
Cell phone use is not permitted during instructional time. To support students in maintaining their focus, a secure space will be designated in each classroom for students to place their phones when they enter each room. Students will collect their cell phones when exiting the room for class changes.
If students do not abide by the cell phone policy and continue to access cell phones during instructional time, they will be subject to a system of tiered administrative consequences.
Parent(s) and guardian(s), as we approach the beginning of this school year, I encourage you to take a few moments to talk with your children about responsible cell phone use during the school day.
