Sheri Hundley Gross grew up on her family’s farm in Center Cross, Virginia. She graduated with a Bachelor's degree in psychology from Longwood College and began her first career as a prevention specialist with the Middle Peninsula/Northern Neck Community Services Board. This will be her thirtieth year working in schools, including nine years serving as the director of college guidance in an international girls boarding school and a year as the guidance counselor in a federal juvenile detention center.

Mrs. Gross is married to Butch Gross and has two adult children, both of whom are PGA professionals. Beyond family and school, she enjoys long walks, hiking, growing native plants, visiting cultural sites, and following her children around golf courses watching them compete.
